About the blog

This rambling blog is about building a simple layout in HO, the available space is rather small but the prototype was not built on the grand scale, most rural stations were merely a curved loop and a siding, which is easy to replicate.

Buddleia - butterfly bush

Buddleia (also known as the "Butterfly Bush") are a great summer plant for the garden, they are easy to care for, they have bright vibrant colours, and they act like a magnet to butterflies (and Hummingbirds in warmer countries).  But when the summer is over some backwork is needed in cutting back the old wood ready for the next season.
These plants will find a home on Pottendorf.

The plants are a simple wire frame, painted with biege latex whilist the paper leaves are stuck in place and the flower spikes are tiny pieces of foam which are painted before 'planting'.
