About the blog

This rambling blog is about building a couple of simple layouts in HO, the available space is rather small but the prototype was not built on the grand scale, most stations were merely a curved loop and a siding.

A hundred year old truck

The model is almost 60 years old, it is a Lesney Matchbox Models of Yesteryear AEC but it looks like any generic pre-20s truck.

However it really wears its years rather well, the 'artillery' wheels are superb and a few more details will complete the job. More importantly, it looks just right as the only internal combustion engine vehicle on Waischenfeld Ofr.

To go with the truck, a variety of appropriate loads would not go amiss.

The wicker baskets are rather nice and ready to use, they were once available from Hornby whilst the baskets and vegetable boxes were Preiser items.
