Grafenwalde - eine Spitzkehre

The blog is about building a small fictitious location in Thuringia, rather than a copy, it is merely an amalgam of features of existing locations in the area, in short, a plausible fiction.

The concept is very loosely based on Rauenstein on the Eisfeld-Sonneberg line, there are numerous changes, the main changes are the extent and orientation of the station and the addition of a loco shed.

The station building is a Kibri kit based on Gau-Bischofsheim, Hesse on the closed Bodenheim-Alzey line whilst the goods shed is a Pola kit of an Austrian design.

All the locomotives and stock were regulars on tranquil branchlines in the DDR.
